South Park Cycle Treasure Trail
Sunday 24th August
Start: South Park Clock Tower
From 10.00am to 12.00 noon
A cycling treasure trail around South Park for children accompanied by adults. Come along any time between 10.00am and 12.00 noon and cycle at your own pace.
There will be prizes for all children who complete the trail.
The Hell of the North
Sunday 7th September
Start: Dolphin Centre Register between 8.30 - 9.30
The classic ride of the year, the Hell of the North continues to prove extremely popular, attracting close to 200 cyclists in 2007. A picturesque route, the ride goes through some of the most spectacular scenery in the region, but is a tough test and only for experienced cyclists. Check in and lunch stop is in Kirkby Stephen.
Entry fees: in advance £4.50 with t shirt, £2.50 standard entry.

This is a challenging ride for experienced cyclists. Under 16's must be accompanied by an adult.
Tour of Britain - Stage 6
Friday 12th September
Stage 6 of the 2008 will start in Darlington before heading north and finishing in Gateshead. The ride will leave West Row at 10.00am before heading down Tubwell Row and through Parkgate and Yarm Road to Morton Park. At Morton Park the ride will turn left on to the A66 past the brick train and up through Sadberge then on north through County Durham and Northumberland.
Cycling activities have been arranged for the Market Place throughout the day, including Company of Cyclists bike try out road show.

The Heighington Boot Off Road Ride

Start: outside the Bay Horse, Heighington 10.00am
Duration 4 hours
The Heighington Boot is a ride passing through some of the villages north of Darlington which mixes on and off road riding, using bridleways, quiet roads and cycle tracks.
