Travelling by train is a quick and sustainable mode of transport and with two railway stations serving Darlington there are numerous destinations possible in relatively short travelling times.
The two stations are Bank Top Station located 10 minutes walk east of the town centre, just off Yarm Road and North Road Station, located 20 minutes walk north of the town centre.
Bank Top Station is on the East Coast Mainline serving key destinations including Edinburgh, York and London. There are a range of facilities at Bank Top Station including cash machines, newsagents and food outlets as well as cycle parking for 70 bikes.
North Road Station serves local destinations such as Bishop Auckland, the Metro Centre and Saltburn.
Both stations are easily accessible by bus. Bank Top station is served by the following services:

Plusbus
Plusbus is a discount price bus ticket that you buy with a train ticket - it gives unlimited bus travel around the town you buy the ticket for. In Darlington, Plusbus tickets are valid on all Arriva services in Darlington and an adult day ticket will cost £2.50. A ticket valid for seven days costs £8.50 with a monthly ticket costing £25.
